Artist Performance Mixes for Singers & Bands
What is an “ARTIST Performance Mix”?
Artist Performance Mixes are mixes made for live performances using the stems of your original instrumentals or your backing tracks. The stems are then mixed for the best audio quality for use in live situations. The original instrumental track by itself isn ‘t always the best choice for use as a backing track as it can lack certain live aspects that leave audiences wanting more. Live mixes can vary depending on how you plan to perform live as an artist. If you are playing with a live band a backing track can boost certain aspects of the instrumentalists performances and serve as a place keeper and sound effects layers allowing for an “impossibly” full sounding performance. If you are performing solo with just a backing track; a live mix can include adding additional instruments and boosting volumes of instruments like drums and backing vocals and cutting harsh frequencies from sounds like cymbals that can be tinny or piercing when played through a PA speaker as part of a live performance. Other aspects of a live mix can include adding transitions and builds to add more life and contrast to the performance.
